BURNSVILLE — Visitation for Robert “Bob” Dale Larson, age 82, of Burnsville, Minn., formerly of Fairmont, Minn., will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Bob passed away at 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert Dale Larson was born June 17, 1942, in Moline, Ill., the son of Glen and Lucille Larson. Bob attended school in Lacrosse, Wis. He worked at a train company. On Sept. 4, 1965, Bob was united in marriage to Sharon K McDaniel. The couple resided in La Crosse for eight months. The next three years they lived in nine states. The next 46 years they lived in Fairmont, Minn. Bob worked for Fairmont Railway Motors and merged with Harsco Corporation in 1979 to become part of Harsco Track Technologies (Harsco Rail in 2009). Bob worked there for 32 years.
Bob was a servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, a Sunday School Superintendent, a Deacon and Chairman of the Board at Bethel Evangelical Free Church.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sharon Larson; children, Mike (Niki) Larson of Mankato, Minn. and Christopher (Cindy) Larson of Burnsville, Minn.; four grandchildren, Ashley (Chris), Rebekkah (Kyle), Rachel and Kaiah; sister, Sue Nicol of Alameda, Calif.
