FAIRMONT — Ida Mae Erickson, age 91, of Fairmont, Minn., and Armstrong, Iowa, died Saturday, June 8, 2024, with family at her side. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at the Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Burial will be in Swea Township Cemetery, rural Swea City, Iowa. Those wishing to view the service remotely may go to the church Facebook page or YouTube channel.
Ida Mae Mortensen was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Dolliver, Iowa, to Adolph and Dina (Hansen) Mortensen.
Survivors include: her six children, Doug Owens of East Chain, Minn., Myranda Schultze of Cape Canaveral, Fla., Sherry Lundberg of Bennington, Neb., Jackie Reuter of Carol Stream, Ill., Paul Erickson of Armstrong, Iowa and Ivana Begley of Seattle, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Lazar of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Karen Mortensen of Swea City, Iowa, Ivy Mortensen of Fairmont, Minn., Linda Thedens of Eagan, Minn., Barbara
Erickson of Northridge, Calif.; other extended family and friends.
