BLUE EARTH — Alberta Lou Greimann, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 28, 2024. Alberta was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Alberta’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. David Schultz officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Alberta was a cherished member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and actively participated in multiple church groups and activities.

A beloved member of the Blue Earth community and the surrounding area, Alberta was born March 4, 1929, in Blue Earth, Minn., to Walter and Stella Myrtle Golly. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1947 as co-valedictorian with her future brother-in-law, Stanley Greimann. On Sept. 8, 1950, she married Wesley Greimann and together they raised a family on their farm outside of Blue Earth. She later earned her bachelor’s degree at Mankato State. She was a dedicated teacher for 29 years, teaching mainly in the Huntley and Granada area.

Alberta had a passion for education, horses, and traveling out east to visit her daughter, Leslie and grandchildren. She found joy in reading, sewing, cooking, volunteering at St. Luke’s and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; parents, Walter and Stella Golly; brother, Maynard (Helen) Golly; sister, Jane (Ralph) Olson; and sons, Scott and Rahn.

She is survived by her daughters: Leslie Hollowell and Lesa (Mike) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Shelly (Rahn) Greimann; six grandchildren: Staci (Tim) Murphy, Matthew Johnson, Brianna (David) Greer,Makenzie (Todd) Bloomer, Ashley Moore and Aaron Hollowell; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
