Maryl Jean passed away Friday evening, March 29, 2024, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Maryl Jean was born Aug. 28, 1934, to Harold and Viola (Hartwig) Miller in Welcome, Minn. Maryl Jean was the eldest of 7 children. Growing up she attended school and graduated from Welcome High School in 1952.

On March 5, 1972, she was united in marriage to Victor Lemke at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont. The two celebrated 37 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.

Maryl Jean worked as a retail clerk at Ben Franklin’s for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Church was very important to her, rarely missing a Sunday service and being active in the Ladies Guild was something that she held near to her heart. She loved to go on adventures, whether that be traveling with Victor or taking day trips with her sisters. Maryl Jean also held her family as a high priority. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. She had an unwavering love that will remain as a comforting legacy for all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Jerry Miller, H. Keith (Dorie) Miller and Marlin (Anna) Miller; sisters: Bonnie Tow, Audrey Minscer and Vivian (Steve) Michalke; brothers and sisters-in-law: Reinhold (Lorraine) Lemke, Betty Lemke, and John Robichaud; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Maryl Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Viola Miller; husband, Victor Lemke; brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert Tow, Jim Minscer, Ardene Miller, Emil Lemke, Irene Robichaud, Esther (Bill) Baxter, Marcella (Hugh) Nicholson, Herbert (Shirley) Lemke, Sylvan (Dolores) Lemke and Alfred (Margaret) Lemke. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
