Virginia A. “Ginny” Anderson was born Dec. 15, 1946, to Richard and Esther (Olson) Anderson in Mountain Lake, Minn. Ginny graduated from Butterfield-Odin High School in 1964 and later attended Mankato Commercial College and graduated with a degree in accounting.

Ginny was united in marriage to the love of her life, Les Anderson, on Dec. 4, 1966, at Zion Lutheran Church in Odin, Minn. After they were wed, the couple moved to England, where Les was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. In 1970, they returned to rural Trimont, where they lived and farmed for many years. In addition to the crops they grew, Ginny was passionate about raising sheep, and dedicated much of her time to their care. Upon their retirement in 2017, Ginny and Les moved off of the farm and into their home in Fairmont.

Ginny was an active member of the Trimont United Methodist Church, and greatly enjoyed joining her voice with others in song. She was a very talented wood carver, and was able to create beautiful pieces of art that will always be treasured by her family and friends. She loved to travel the country with Les, and treasured the time they were able to spend visiting with family and friends.

Ginny was a member of the VFW and Legion Auxiliary in Trimont, the MN Farm Bureau, the Red Rock, MN, and National Rural Water Associations, and the Wool Producers Association. Her time with these various organizations connected her with many wonderful people who she remained close with no matter the distance.
