Cecil T. Keithahn

GUCKEEN — A celebration of life visitation for Cecil Thomas Keithahn, 75, of Guckeen, Minn., will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A graveside service and military honors provided by Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222 will be held 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Fairmont. Casual attire and motorcycles welcomed. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Martin County Humane Society.

Cecil passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cecil Thomas Keithahn was born June 28, 1948, to Earl and Eunice (Osberg) Keithahn in Fairmont, Minn. He graduated from Huntley High School with the class of 1967. Cecil enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 10, 1968. He served in Grafenwöhr, Germany as a forward observer. He was honorably discharged as a SP5 on April 1, 1970.

Cecil was united in marriage to Cheryl Fenske on Sept. 9, 1978, at Salem United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, Minn. Cecil and Cheryl were happily married for forty-five years. They made their home in Guckeen, Minn. Cecil worked as a welder and mechanic for many years at the Guckeen Garage and from 1997 until 2008 he worked at Weigh-Tronix in Fairmont.

Cecil was a member of the American Legion Post 89 for fifty-four years. He was a proud veteran and patriot. He enjoyed watching birds, fireworks and riding his lawn mower around. Cecil loved riding his Harley Davidson and loved meeting new people wherever he went. He made many friends by starting up a conversation with strangers. He also enjoyed model cars, reading the Bible, word searches and coloring. In his younger years, Cecil was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of several trapshooting clubs around the area. Most of all, Cecil was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cheryl Keithahn; children, Travis (Kim) Fenske, Tracy (Nic) Emich, Thomas Keithahn and Terry Keithahn; three grandchildren, Reese Fenske, Piper Lee Keithahn and John Thomas Keithahn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan Fryman, Sandy Keithahn-Molick, Beth and Loren Selvig, Todd Fenske and Jayson and Sue Fenske; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eunice Keithahn; two brothers, Gary Keithahn and Roger Keithahn; sister, Karen Fryman; and beloved dog, Harley.
