Lucile ‘Lucy’ J. Tow

FAIRMONT — A memorial service for Lucile “Lucy” J. Tow will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with interment in Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Lucy passed away Tuesday morning, March 5, 2024, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lucile Jane (Anstett) Tow was born Jan. 28, 1935, the fifth of seven children, in Springville, N.Y., to Ellenor (Pratt) Anstett and Roman Anstett. She met Vernon Tow in Buffalo, N.Y. and they were married two months later on Nov. 17, 1953. They returned to Fairmont, Minn., shortly after their marriage. They welcomed four children to their family: Valerie, Michael, Timothy and Rodney. Lucy had a passion for singing, music, gardening and square dancing.

Lucy was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, participating in numerous Bible studies and ministries. “Grandma Lucy” often bragged that her church was the “best church in the whole world” and her love for its congregation was second only to her love of family.

Lucy is survived by her children: Valerie Jepsen, Michael (Becky) Tow, Timothy Tow and fiancé Diane Lentz, Rodney (Jenny) Tow; sisters, Marie Frantz and Eileen Miller; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Tow and Susan Oliver Tow; grandchildren, Sarah (Zach) Woodburn, Jennifer (Michael) Trushenski, Brian (Daniela) Tow, Steven Tow, Elizabeth (Josh) Harris, Kaitlin (Dalton) Martinson, Samuel Tow and fiancé Brooke Wohlrabe, Paige Keim, Thomas Tow, Timothy (Jackie) Tow, Laura Tow and fiancé Derek Moeller, Mason Tow and special friend Abby Paulson, Kiah Tow; great-grandchildren, Charlie Woodburn, Stella Trushenski, Julia and Eve Harris and Watson Tow; and many nieces and nephews.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Ellenor and Roman Anstett; parents-in-law, Mathilda Vigdal Tow and Martin Tow; brothers, Michael Anstett and Walter (Katherine) Anstett; sisters, Carol (Harold) Weltjen and Alvina (Van) Davis; husband, Vernon Tow; brothers-in-law, Harold Shorty Tow, Donald (Kate) Tow, James Tow, Robert Tow and Raymond Tow; sisters-in-law, Norma Jane (Herb) Banton and Betty Tow.
