Cynthia “Cindi” Diane Crissinger was born June 11, 1956, in Trimont, Minn., the daughter of Ralph and Norma (Nave) Crissinger. She was raised in Sherburn on the family farm where she attended school and graduated high school. Cindi would go on to further her education, attending classes at Jackson VoTech in Jackson, MN.
In 1976, Cindi moved to Fairmont and maintained a domestic partnership with Keith E. Meyer. The couple had two children, William and James. Over the years, Cindi dealt with addiction and fought hard to overcome the disease. In 2001, Cindi began her sobriety and was proud to maintain that over the last 23 years through working with Narcotics Anonymous rooms and family.
Cindi had a kind and caring heart and loved to help others. In her youth, she would often bring home little animals that had fallen from nests or were abandoned and helped to nurse them back to health. Her home was also an open door for those that needed help and through the years she welcomed in a handful of kids that needed a safe place to call home. Those relationships became long lasting, and she loved them like her own and was proud of the amazing young men and women they became.
In her spare time, Cindi enjoyed tending to her garden and cooking. She loved her family and cherished visits from her children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, William (Jayme) Meyer, James Meyer (Megan Skalicky), Shane (Jordan) Gray, Shannon Gray (Jackie Przybylski), Michael Lee (Natalie Olson), Garrett (Teddy) Kelly, Skylar (Brittni) Meyer, Riley (Julia) Gustafson, Logan Martinez (Heather Rondeau), Mark Thompson (Alysha Pettyjohn), Derek Wohlhuter and Joshua Martinson; grandchildren, Marceline Meyer, Madelyn Meyer, Vera Meyer, Oliver Hill, RaeLynn Gray, Everleigh Gray, Kaden Gray, Layla Gray, Hunter Gray, Lauren Kelly, Grant Kelly, Luke Kelly, Zayda Lindsey, Jordan Meyer, Braylon Meyer, Lydia Gustafson, Charles Gustafson and Mirabelle Martinez; siblings, David Crissinger of Underwood, Minn., Andrea (Russell) Mileham of Brookings, S.D. and Sandra Fischer of Gruver, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Cindi was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Norma Crissinger; grandparents, Arza and Florence Crissinger and Ralph and Leoria Nave; and sister-in-law, Dorene “Charlie” Crissinger.
The family requests memorials be made in Cindi’s to the Martin County Humane Society. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
