Agnes Elizabeth (VonBank) Kosbab was born on April 29, 1934, in Bancroft, Iowa. She was the daughter of Thomas and Fernanda (Stelpflug) VonBank. Agnes attended catholic school in Bancroft.
On January 18, 1963, Agnes was united in marriage to Marvin Kosbab in Sioux Falls, S.D. Together the couple made their home on a farm north of Fairmont and were blessed with two children, Paul and Pam. Agnes and Marvin shared over fifty-four years together before Marvin passed away on May 23, 2017.
Agnes enjoyed helping Marvin on the farm as well as being a homemaker. Once the kids were older, Agnes went to work at Jeff’s Bakery in Fairmont and later at Hy-Vee. After retiring when she was 73, she wanted to keep herself busy outside of the house so she volunteered at the Fairmont Hospital.
Agnes attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church where she was active with the ladies’ aid. She enjoyed being active with bowling league as well as reading Danielle Steel books, doing word search puzzles, and watching the Game Show Network.
Left to cherish her memory include her son, Paul Kosbab of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter, Pam Sulflow and her husband, Byron, of Clara City, Minn.; grandchildren, Gena Frost of Fairmont, Minn. and Dallas Berube and her husband, Brett, of River Falls, Wis.; great grandchildren, Riley and Emily Frost; and two more on the way for Dallas and Brett; as well as other extended family and friends. Along with her parents, Thomas and Fernanda VonBank, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Kosbab; sisters, Dolores Mathwig and Dorothy Huron; and parents-in-law, Elmer and Louise Kosbab.
