James William was born Feb. 3, 1931 in Blue Earth, the son of Clarence and Cora (Weyhrauch) More. He was a brother to Gene, Wilhelmine, Robert and Frederick. He married the love of his life,
Ferne Risk on Aug. 2, 1952. Together they raised four children. Jim farmed south of Blue Earth for a few years before he was hired on at Green Giant in 1965. In 1968 they moved into town and Jim
continued his career at Green Giant until he “retired” in 1993. Although he had the title of “retired”, he still continued to help out at Green Giant as well as working for several farmers in the area for many years. Farming was a passion he carried with him throughout his life and any opportunity he had to sit in a tractor, he would. When Jim was in his younger years he enjoyed taking snowmobile trips up north with family and friends. Later in life when he wasn’t working he was an avid walker, loved watching sports and feeding and watching the birds. He and Ferne also spent many winters in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Whether they were away or at home in Blue Earth, he always enjoyed getting together with friends for coffee and being social. What brought him the most joy was family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Monte (Gayle) of Jackson, Mitchell (Sharon) of New Ulm and Murri (Paula) of Albert Lea, his daughter Monica More (special friend Brad Zierke) of Blue Earth, 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren as well as many other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ferne, grandson Ryan Mensing, two brothers and two sisters.
