Ronald James Arens was born on July 23, 1962, in Buffalo, Minn., the son of Thomas and Judith (Oeffling) Arens. Ron graduated from Delano High School. He originally intended to continue the family farm. Due to severe asthma, he decided to attend St. Cloud State University where he graduated in 1984, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
In April of 1984, Ron was united in marriage to Cathie Warren. Together the couple moved to Fairmont in November of that year where he began working at Erickson Law Firm in their accounting department. A year later, Ron passed the CPA test, was presented with the opportunity to buy out Don Feuerhake, and became partners with Jerry Cassem. A few years later, Ron started Ronald J. Arens, C.P.A., P.C. He took great pride in caring for his clients in a variety of ways; showing his love of serving others.
While work was a large part of Ron’s life, he made sure to prioritize what was truly important to him: His faith and his family! He enjoyed supporting his children as they competed in various sporting events. He was very generous and found great joy in donating his time and resources to various charities and organizations. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was affectionately known as: “Gooey Grandpa”.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Cathie Arens; three children, Tieg (Elizabeth), Trason (Mercedes) and Tieryn (Ryan Bergman); two granddaughters, Mya and Madison along with additional grandchildren on the way in January and February. Ron is also survived by his parents: Tom and Judy Arens, siblings Lisa Romportl (Jerome), Randy, Brenda (Tom) Masloski, Lynette (Robb) Norling, and his “favorite” brother, Joel, father and mother-in-law, Dick & JoAnn Warren; brothers-in-law: Rich, Jeff, and Steve Warren; as well as many extended family and friends.
