Bob passed away suddenly Monday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2023, at his home in Fox Lake, Minn. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com.

Robert Fraser Spear was born Oct. 7, 1958, to Frank and Mervene (Fitzsimmons) Spear in Trimont, Minn. He attended Sherburn-Dunnell Schools and later graduated with the class of 1977. On Sept. 14, 1985, he was united in marriage to Jannelle Jones at the Fox Lake Chapel. After their marriage they raised three sons in Fox Lake Village. Bob worked for Amdevco/Tyco/Armin Carlisle in Fairmont, Daybreak Foods in Estherville, Iowa, and most recently helped Dick Gerhardt and Jeremy Bremer on their farms. He was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. Bob enjoyed helping coach his sons and nephews on their youth Little League teams. His love for playing billiards was very important to him as he played on several different teams.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jann; three sons, Skyler (Sarah) Spear of Truman, Taylor Spear of Fox Lake Village, MacGyver Spear of Welcome, Minn.; three grandchildren, Sawyer, Samara and Sylas Spear; sisters, Lois Engels of rural Wilmont, Minn., Marie (Scott) Thoelke of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother-in-law, Kal Koball of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sister-in-law, Wendy (Dan) Wohlers of rural Trimont, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank “Bus” and Mervene Spear; sister, Shirley Koball; father and mother-in-law, Lellen “Buck” Jones, Joyce E. “Kling” Jones; brothers-in-law, Henry “Hank” Engels, Wade D. Jones; and other relatives.
