Danny R. Scheff
MINNEAPOLIS — Danny Richard Scheff, 70, of Minneapolis, Minn., passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at the VA Medical Center. Most of the staff at the Veterans Home had been with him the duration of his stay there and they have all stated that his laughter and smiles were appreciated.
Danny graduated from Fairmont High School in 1971, then joined the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Dash, a minesweeper in Newport, Rhode Island. He was a talented athlete in Fairmont and has passed that talent to his kids and grandkids.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Danielle (Corey) Drevlow; son, Josh (Jessica) Scheff; brother, David (Rita) Scheff; sisters, Diane Mitchell and Denise (Jon) Macziewski; grandchildren, Sydney Drevlow, Logan Drevlow, Scarlett Scheff and Sayler Scheff; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Georgianna Scheff of Fairmont.
No funeral services for Danny will be held. The family would prefer memorials to the Martin County Veterans Memorial be sent to Diane Mitchell, 1124 E. Webster St., Fairmont, MN 56031. Memorials would also be appreciated at the Martin County Humane Society.
