David R. Lyon
DUNNELL — A service of remembrance for David R. Lyon, 76, of Dunnell, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell. Burial, with military honors by Thomas P. Saxton American Legion Post 356 of Sherburn and the Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8261, will be in Lake Fremont Cemetery, rural Dunnell.
Lyon was called to his eternal rest Friday evening, Sept. 22, 2023, at his home in Dunnell, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn. Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn is in charge of arrangements.
David Robert Lyon was born Nov. 5, 1946, in Fairmont, Minn., to John Robert “Bob” and Betty Jane (Lund) Lyon. He served in the U.S. Army from March 24, 1966, until his honorable discharge on Feb. 28, 1968.
Survivors include: his wife, Carol Lyon of Dunnell, Minn.; two sons, Michael Lyon of Sherburn, Minn. and Mark Lyon of Sherburn, Minn; two daughters, Vicki Wodtke of Estherville, Iowa and Linda Prentice of Dolliver, Iowa; nine grandchildren; sister, Janeen Boggess of Carver, Minn.; mother-in-law, Ruby Kramer of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brothers-in-law, Larry Kramer of Hartford, S.D. and Lonnie Kramer of Humboldt, S.D.; sister-in-law, Shirley Hanson of Humboldt, S.D.; other relatives and friends.
