Daniel ‘Dan’ Mark Driscoll

BLUE EARTH — Daniel “Dan” Mark Driscoll, age 62, of Blue Earth, a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at St. Mary’s Mayo Rochester hospital after a hard fought battle with cancer, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sep. 23, 2023, at SSPP Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Burial will take place in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Dan was born May 28, 1961, to Dan and Ruth Driscoll in Bradford, Ill. During childhood, his family moved to Manchester, Iowa, and then in 1969 moved to Blue Earth, Minn., where he graduated in 1979 from Blue Earth High School. He married the love of his life and best friend Cynthia “Cindy” Paschke on July 24, 1982, at United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, Minn. This past summer the two high school sweethearts celebrated 41 amazing years of love and marriage. Together, they raised three beautiful children on a farm outside of Delavan; they taught them to be honest, hardworking, and loving people just like their dad. He’s also known as Grandpa Dan to his seven precious grandchildren.

The three most important things to Dan were faith, family and farming. Dan was a man of iron faith who enjoyed going to church every Sunday and loved reading his Bible every morning to begin each beautiful day. He was a dedicated farmer who loved spending time in the tractor and checking on his crops. He enjoyed sharing his passion of farming with his children by having them help him out in the field. Dan enjoyed gardening and going on walks with his wife along with their two pups on a trail by their woods, and spending time with their growing family. Every fall, his grandchildren loved riding in the combine and picking pumpkins from their garden. Throughout the years, Dan and Cindy enjoyed going to antique shows with their family and raising yellow lab puppies.

Waiting to rejoice with him again someday are his loving wife, Cindy; his children, Rachael (Tim) Mitchell of Jackson, Dan (Alecia) Driscoll of Fairmont and Camille (Jordan) Derfus of Fairmont; grandchildren, Aliya, Adelyn, Owen and Oliver Mitchell, Paisley and Laker Driscoll, and Lennyn Derfus; eight siblings Ken (Kay) Driscoll, Donna Driscoll, Dick (Deb) Driscoll, Shelly (Dick) Skaden, Phil (Vicky) Driscoll, Susan (Scott) Erichsrud, Pat Driscoll and Jane Driscoll; mother-in-law, Doris Paschke; and sisters-in-law, Tami (Michael) Hoffman, Dawn Paschke; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Ruth Driscoll; and father-in-law, Harley Paschke.
