Vogele passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Fred William Vogele was born July 11, 1938, in Graceville, Minn., to

loving parents, Fred and Julia. He joined the Army Reserve unit from Wheaton and served a six-year enlistment as a medical corpsman.

Survivors include: his children, Katherine Pope and Sara Palmer; three grandchildren; brother-in-law, Richard Monhardt; sisters-in-law, Lois Wilkes and Barb Monhardt; other family and friends.
