Marvin passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marvin Robert Werner Jr. was born April 4, 1943, to Marvin and Hazel (Adams) Werner in Fairmont. Growing up he attended school in East Chain and began working for his dad at a young age. Marvin was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Knudson on April 11, 1964. This union was blessed with three sons, Gary, Todd and Jason. Marvin enjoyed spending time fishing, sharing coffee with friends and going to the casino. Hard work was also important to Marvin. He worked as a truck driver for many years before retiring at the age of 77.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Gary Werner of Fairmont, Todd Werner of Fairmont and Jason (Sirena Gehrt) Werner of Truman, Minn.; grandchildren: Kelli Maloney, Zoey Theobald, Nicole Eisenmenger and Ryan Werner; great-grandchildren: Madison, Max,

Axel and Brooklinn; siblings: Grace (Keith) Liebfried, Earl (Kathy) Werner, Betty Lyons, Art Werner, Otto Werner and Joyce (Nick) Purdin; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; sister, Rose
