Wayne Alan Breitbarth

WASECA — Wayne Alan Breitbarth, age 40, of Waseca, Minn., passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, at his home. Visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 20, at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca, with funeral services held Monday, Aug. 21, at St. John Lutheran Church in Antrim. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Madelia.

Wayne was born Sept. 5, 1982, in Madelia, Minn., to parents, Alan and Catherine (McMullen) Breitbarth. He attended school in Truman and after graduation went on to attend Ely Community College and Rasmussen University where he studied business management and human resources. Wayne worked for over seven years at Media Comm, and was most recently employed as a dispatcher in law enforcement. He made many lasting friends in the Waseca Sheriff’s Office, Waseca Police Department, as well as other police departments around southern Minnesota. He was a member of the Minnesota Police Dispatcher’s Association, and was recently the recipient of a professional service award for his exemplary service to the police department during several high-pressure, high stress moments in our community’s history. He was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Antrim. He enjoyed ice fishing, his involvement with Waseca’s “Fermentals” brewing club, collecting and using cast iron, running events and triathlons, off-roading in his Jeep and he loved all of his friends in the “10th Street Crew.” Wayne is survived by both of his parents, Alan and Catherine Breitbarth of Waseca; two siblings, Amber (Joey) Bunyan of Jordan, and Robert (Kim) McCorvey of San Antonio, Texas; five nieces and nephews, Savannah, Addyson, L.J., Kalara and Leo; his beloved rescue-dog, Ruby; his German family; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. dsofuneral.com
