Ronald Leroy Swenson was born May 22, 1935, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Myron and Kathryn (Kennedy) Swenson. He attended Brandon country school and then graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1953. He married Ruthe Archer in 1956. They had three children, Tim,

Penne and Jill. They moved around for his job with Armour, where he was head hog buyer for 35 years. They settled down in Welcome, Minn. in 1971. They divorced in 1977. He married Mary Firchau at St. James in 1978, and moved onto his dad’s farm in Garretson. They divorced in 1987. He retired in 1995 and moved into Brandon. He was a member of Swedona Covenant Church in Brandon and joined the Brandon AA organization in 1987 and was very proud of his 30 plus years of sobriety. He loved farming, tractors, and watching sports, especially the Vikings and the Twins and visiting with his friends and family.

Ron is survived by his son, Tim of Mankato; daughter, Penne Swenson (Bruce) of Minneapolis; and grandson, Timmie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd; daughter, Jill; and sisters, Liz and Deb.
