Geneva passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, surrounded by family. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Geneva Helen (Wolter) Manzke was born July 13, 1928, to Lawrence and Lillian (Thate) Wolter in Rutland Township, Martin County, Minn. She graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1946.

On July 27, 1952, Geneva was united in marriage to Robert Manzke at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Together the couple made their home on the farm near Welcome, Minn. until moving to East Chain in 1972. In 2014, they moved to Fairmont. Robert and Geneva were blessed with seven children, Sharon, Susanne, Dale, Kristine, Kathryn, Douglas, and Brenda.

Geneva was a housekeeper at Fairmont Community Hospital. She was a member of the East Chain United Methodist Church where she was a UMW-Circle C member and helped for many years at the UMW annual cream chicken supper. Geneva had many enjoyments which included jigsaw puzzles, gardening, baking, playing 500 and solitaire, watching the MN Timberwolves and going on family vacations. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From 2014 to 2019, Geneva enjoyed spending time at her daughters salon where she met so many people that called her Mom.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Susanne (Roger) Whitman of East Chain, Minn., Dale Manzke of Fairmont, Minn., Kristine Manzke of Lake Montezuma, Ariz., Kathryn Lucas of Scottsdale, Ariz., Douglas (Karen) Manzke of Benson, Minn. and Brenda (Mike) Buntjer of Fairmont, Minn.; grandchildren, Neil (Rebecca) Whitman, Laura (Zachary) Koch, Ryan (Anugrah) Manzke, Derek (fiancée, Brittney Egness) Manzke, Ty Lucas, Jessica (Blake) Schmidt, Joshua Manzke, Ryan (Taylor Eicholz) Buntjer and Jacob (Sydney Goche) Buntjer; great-grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Lucy and Millie Koch, Luqman Manzke, Oakley Manzke, Brielle Schmidt and Clay Buntjer; sisters, Dawn (Norman) McCarthy of Blaine, Minn. and Elaine Buchan of Austin, Minn.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lillian Wolter; husband, Robert Manzke; daughter, Sharon Manzke; son-in-law, Scott Lucas; granddaughter, Jenna Manzke; brother, Larry (Alyce) Wolter; and brother-in-law, Beryl Buchan.
