Donald G. Eckmann
WAUCONDA, Ill. — Donald George Eckmann, 84, of Wauconda, Ill., passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, from complications after hip surgery. A memorial visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St. in Wauconda, with a memorial service at 12 p.m. noon.
He was born April 20, 1939, in Fairmont, Minn., to Albert and Malinda (Kruse) Eckmann. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Cuban Conflict.
He was well known in the area as an accomplished carpenter and was a long-time active member of Wauconda Moose Lodge 1969.
He is survived by his children Lori Williams, Rory (Lisa) Eckmann and Scott (Kim) Eckmann; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie and Janet; three brothers, Bill, Ervin and Mel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Martin, Mabel, Lillian, Floyd, Rose, Roy, Alfreda, Richard, Alberta and Clarence “Bud.”
