Jill was born in Denison, Iowa, to Ronald and Ruthie Swenson. She was a high school graduate from Welcome, Minn.

Survivors include: her husband, Frank Russo; her brother, Tim; sister, Penne; mother-in-law, Regina Boccio; sisters-in-law, Regina and Dawn; other family and friends in Minnesota, South Dakota and Ocala.
