Mary passed away Sunday morning, June 25, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont. Memorials are preferred to the Saint John Vianney School Endowment Fund. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary Kathryn (Style) Murphy was born Feb. 8, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Rodney and Kathleen (Quillin) Style. Mary attended Fairmont and Minneapolis public schools and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1965. In 1968, Mary was united in marriage to Jim Zarling. The couple resided in Fairmont and had two children, Heather and Erin. Mary Kathryn worked at Wehler’s Jewelry and then became a stay-at-home mom to raise her daughters. Later, she went to work with her husband Jim at SM Computers and took over the business when he went to work for the City of Fairmont.

On Oct. 15, 1994, Mary was united in marriage to Michael Murphy Sr. in Fairmont. The couple made their home in Fairmont where Mary worked as a leasing and title manager at Flaherty’s Automotive until her retirement in 2009. Mary was a past member of the Fairmont Jaycee Women, past president of the Fairmont Hospital Auxiliary, past president of the Council of Catholic Women, as well as a past St. John Vianney funeral lunch coordinator. During her free time, Mary enjoyed crocheting and crafting as well as tending to her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mike Murphy Sr.; children, Heather (Steve) Scheer, Erin (Joseph) Maidl, Julie Williams, Michael Jr. (Jill) Murphy and Trisha (Mike) Odenbrett; grandchildren, Ireland Scheer, Sienna Scheer, Joseph II (Ashly) Maidl, Ryann Maidl (fianceÈ, Jon Benny), Shawn (Kelcy) Williams, Leslie (Dave) McClellan, Abby Williams (Yair Ortega), Madeline Murphy, Olivia Murphy, Zachary Wolhert (fiancÈ, Sydney Frese), Zakiah Wolhert (fiancÈ, Tyler Lien), Addilee Odenbrett and Colin Odenbrett; great-

Moltzen; aunts, Elizabeth Sullivan, Catherine Olson and Delores Style; many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Along with her parents, Rodney and Kathleen Style, Mary was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
