FAIRMONT — Leo Jacob Krumholz, 97, of Fairmont, Minn., passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2023, at Ingleside in Fairmont, surrounded by loved ones. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. A private family burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Fairmont. Leo was born June 7, 1925, in Fairmont Township, to Jacob and Anna (Heckel) Krumholz. He later met and married the love of his life, Delores Scheff, and together they raised their six children in Fairmont. Leo started Day Plumbing Heating and Cooling in 1983 with sons, Leonard and Bill, after his retirement from Iowa Electric Light & Power where he worked as their gas appliance serviceman. His strong work ethic, caring ways and desire to help others were evident to all. He was a walking history book of Martin County and his children and grandchildren will fondly remember all of his stories and knowledge. He was quick witted, always had a joke to tell and made the best pancakes for Sunday brunch. He was a faithful, life-long member of St John Vianney Catholic Church and long-time Knights of Columbus member. Leo was the best father and grandfather we could have ever asked for.

A special thank you to the many wonderful caregivers who took care of Leo at home and made his days enjoyable. A special appreciation for the faithful ones who cared for him both in his home and continued to spoil him when he moved to Ingleside and to the many sweet caregivers at Ingleside that brightened his days.

Leo is lovingly remembered by his children, Alice (Ken) Blomstrom of Clear Lake, Iowa, Jeanne (Dennis) Thate of Fairmont, Leonard (Sandra) Krumholz of Austin, Texas, Joyce (Eddie) Kwan of Edmonds, Wash. and Bill (Chris) Krumholz of Fairmont; grandchildren, John Blomstrom, Amy Jensen, Jeff (Susan) Blomstrom, Greg (Renee) Blomstrom, Kara Thate, Ross (Kellie) Thate, Michelle (Jhon) Castiblanco, Dietrich (Emberly) Krumholz, Erick (Cassie) Kwan, Abby (Craig) Roosendaal, Janessa (Jordan) Greek, Willis (Alyssa) Krumholz, Kellie (Beckett) Witzke, Katie (Chad) Poppen, Anna (Alex) Voyles, Steven Krumholz, Theodore (Sara) Krumholz and Sarah Krumholz; great-grandchildren, Jenna (Mark) Lettow, Anna Jensen, Maddox and Harper Blomstrom, Emily, Joaquin, Sophia, Maximillian and Veronica Castiblanco, Georgia Kwan, Makena, Capri and Sienna Roosendaal, Shephard, Clover and Soulei Greek, Josephine Krumholz, Wolfgang and Wellesley Witzke, Leo Poppen, AlmaLeigh, Arnie, Arlo, Adalyne and Agnes Voyles; great-great-grandsons, Henrik and George Lettow.
