Jeffrey W. Steele
WEST ST. PAUL — A funeral service for Jeffrey “Jeff” William Steele, 62, of West St. Paul, Minn., formerly of Ceylon, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, with visitation prior to the service from 10:30-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Lake Belt Cemetery, rural Ceylon.
Jeff passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his home.
Jeffrey William Steele was born Nov. 23, 1960, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Nancy (Lubenow) and Bill Steele. He was baptized and confirmed at United Church of Christ in Ceylon, Minn. He attended Ceylon Public School. In 1983, Jeff moved to the Twin Cities. On Jan. 2, 1994, Jeff was united in marriage to Susan Krueger at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon. They resided in Eagan, Minn. In 1998, he earned a B.S. Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Minnesota. Jeff worked as an occupational therapist for the South Washington School District in Cottage Grove and Children’s Therapy Center in Eagan. Jeff was a kind and caring person, always willing to help others. He was passionate about riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He loved his basset hound Sam, fishing, and playing table tennis.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Nancy Steele of Ceylon; sister, Georgia Steele of Champlin, Minn.; brother, Lee (Kathy) Steele of Spirit Lake, Iowa; sister, Gina (Kirk) Jorgensen of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Tracy Steele of Sherburn; seven nieces and nephews; uncle, Ken Steele; aunt, Sharon Crowder; special cousins, Amber, Cindy, Paula, Nikki, Penny and Mary; and former spouse, Susan Krueger. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Bill Steele; brother, Wade Steele; uncle, Ole Vigdal; aunt, Wilma Vigdal; close friend, Dan Myers; former father-in-law, Herbert Krueger.
