Todd Eugene Benschoter was born Dec. 20, 1964, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Neil E. Benschoter and Peggy Ann Neusch. Todd attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1983. He would go on to further his education attending Jackson VoTech where he focused his studies on carpentry. At the young age of 15 years old, Todd began working at Madsen’s Grocery Store in Fairmont. He would later work at Randall’s and County Market before joining the team at Hy-Vee where he was known for his knife work at the meat counter. Todd was united in marriage to Renee Milbrandt and to this union, two children were born, Tyler and Cody. The couple later divorced but found joy in seeing their children succeed in their endeavors. In addition to working at Hy-Vee, Todd could be found working odd jobs around Fairmont, mowing lawns, helping at Fairmont Awards and helping Tim Steuber on the farm. He took great pride in the satisfaction that came from completing a hard job and loved helping others. Todd was an accomplished woodworker and found joy in seeing a carpentry project take shape. His down time was spent watching NASCAR racing and sports, and he jumped at the opportunity to spend a day in the sun fishing or golfing. Family and friends were extremely important to Todd and he cherished time spent with all those he cared about.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tyler Benschoter and Cody (Olivia) Benschoter; one granddaughter on the way; father and stepmother, Neil (Susan) Benschoter; siblings, Troy Benschoter and his fiancé, Dennis Mai, Trisha (Michael) Odenbrett and Brian (Tanya) Benschoter; as well as several nieces, nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Todd was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Ann Kolda; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
