He was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Slayton Minn. He married Betty Rose Staples in 1950 where they worked on the family farm in Iona, Minn. with his father, Alvin Nord, until 1961. Chuck joined the Schwan’s Company in 1961. He was one of the initial employees and was given the now famous yellow truck and a cold storage depot. He moved to Truman and started selling Schwan’s ice cream. After building routes in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa for nearly 15 years, he became District Sales Manager over Truman and two offices in Iowa. After many sales awards and records achieved, he retired in 1989. Not one to sit around, he worked at the Truman Rest Home for over 10 years, mowing the lawn and blowing snow.

Throughout their marriage, you would find Chuck and Betty Rose on many dance floors, waltzing the night away. They spent many winters in Arizona where he enjoyed his golf. Chuck was best known for his very infectious laugh, recognizable to all who knew him. You knew when he was in the room.

Chuck is survived by his sons, Steven (Brenda) of Tucson, Ariz. and Michael (Karen) of Edina, Minn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rose; his mother and father; mother-in-law and father-in-law; one brother; and two sisters. www.zahariafamilyfuneral.com
