Swanson died Friday evening, April 28, 2023, at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont, Minn. Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont is in charge of arrangements.

Eugene Lowell Swanson was born Nov. 15, 1938, in Fairmont, Minn., to Emil and Frances Swanson. He was drafted in 1961 into the U.S. Army. While serving his country he obtained the rank of Specialist E4 in heavy equipment. In 1963, he was honorably discharged.

Survivors include: his son, Michael; two grandsons; brother, Bill Swanson of rural Alpha; brother-in-law, Tom Ambrose of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Ambrose of Windom; other relatives and friends.
