She was born April 26, 1957, in Blue Earth, Minn., the daughter of Glenn and Blanche (Northwick) Wells. She married Alan Mino on March 12, 1983, in Blue Earth, Minn. Jan worked for Crystal Lake’s Community High School District 155 for over 20 years. She was a loyal Crystal Lake South Gator fan, cheering on her children as they played sports and continued as they became coaches in the district. She was a supportive mother, encouraging her kids in all of their passions. She loved being outside. She would often go on walks with her husband, children, and caretakers. Gardening was one of her favorite things to do, and she would patiently wait for her ‘surprise’ lilies to bloom each year. She used her gift of singing in the choir at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for over 20 years. She loved spending time with friends and family watching the Iowa Hawkeyes or Chicago Cubs or simply baking cookies, laughing and telling stories.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Alan; her three children, Lindsay (Brad) Werkheiser, Jessica Dawn-Marie Mino and Kyle (Jessica) Mino; grandchildren, Elli and Colton Werkheiser; brothers and sisters, Geary (Cindy) Wells, Brian (Terri) Wells, Craig (Linda) Wells and Kristine (Scott) Nelson; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jan’s name may be directed to Meals on Wheels.
