Susan passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at her home near Fairmont, surrounded by her loving family. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Susan Ruth (Simon) Moeller was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Willard and Helen (Schleininger) Simon. She received her education from Fairmont Public Schools and graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1966. Susan then went on to further her education and follow her passion for cutting and styling hair by attending DeLyles Beauty School, from which she was a proud graduate. On July 14, 1967, Susan married Harvey Moeller at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont, Minn. Together, the couple made their home on a farm northwest of Fairmont and welcomed home four children, Jennifer, Jeff, Chad and Scott.

Susan loved life on the farm and took great pride in helping with the many daily tasks it took to operate the farm. She was known for her talents in the kitchen and enjoyed baking cakes for family and friends. Susan had a green thumb and looked forward to the warm summer months and the opportunity it gave her to work in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was her grandchildren’s biggest supporter and could be found at one of their many events, cheering them on and offering words of encouragement. Susan found great joy in the quiet time spent sewing and made quilts for all of her grandchildren for their 12th birthdays and quilts for all the great-grandchildren at their baptisms. She never lost her passion for cutting and styling hair through the years and was happy to give someone a fresh new style when needed. Susan was a life-long member of St. John’s United Church of Christ where she helped in the church in many different roles. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Harvey Moeller; children, Jennifer Moeller, Jeff (Heather) Moeller, Chad (Rebecca) Moeller and Scott (Rachel) Moeller; grandchildren, Alexander Schliesmann, Jaclyn Tow, Morgan Roberts, Marissa Poppe, Matthew Moeller, Marcus Moeller, Mercedes Moeller, Emilee Moeller, Andrew Moeller, Benjamin Moeller, Calvin Moeller, Olivia Moeller and Will Moeller; five great-grandchildren, Braxtyn, Jaxton, Keenan, Kayvry, Kailer, Saylor and Watson; brothers, Jerry (Joyce) Simon, Daryl (Vonnie) Simon and Steve (Theresa) Simon; sister-in-law, Sammie Moeller; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
