Oliver ‘Tony’ Truesdell

WELCOME — A celebration of life service for Oliver “Tony” A. Truesdell, 65, of Welcome, Minn., will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Burial will be at Lone Cedar Cemetery, Manyaska Township, Minn. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Tony passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn. Memorials are preferred to the Sherburn and Welcome Fire Departments and the American Red Cross. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Oliver “Tony” Anthony Truesdell was born April 28, 1957, to Oliver and Florence (Wempe) Truesdell in Fairmont, Minn. He graduated from Welcome High School with the class of 1975. Tony was united in marriage to Laurie Larson on April 16, 1983, in Ceylon, Minn. This marriage was blessed with four children, Danielle, Emily, Cole and Joe. Tony and Laurie made their home on a farm in rural Sherburn and eventually they moved into Welcome. Tony loved farming and being outside. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest enjoyment in life was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Laurie Truesdell; four children, Danielle (Tristan) Wilmes, Emily (Oliver) Kollofski, Cole (Kay) Truesdell and Joe Truesdell; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Jackson and Collin Wilmes, Jace and Van Kollofski, and Ailey and Arlo Truesdell; siblings, Mary Knapp, Bill(Mary Kaye) Truesdell, Ann (Dan) Terfehr and Millie (Richard) Garbers; mother-in-law, Florene Larson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pam (Garett) Jagodzinske, Keith (Jo) Larson, Brian Larson, John (Mary) Larson, Tom (Joey) Larson, Curtis (Terie) Larson and Richelle (Darin) Moore; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Florence Truesdell; sister, Rose Truesdell; brothers, John Truesdell and Bob Truesdell; and father-in-law, Richard Larson.
