John was born July 22, 1958, in Delavan, Minn., to Lewis and Marjorie (Graeber) Bartlett. He was one of 13 children. He completed high school in Blue Earth and then moved to Mankato where he lived and worked for 30 years. He worked at MRCI, something he enjoyed very much. When John wasn’t at work, he kept busy participating in the Special Olympics where he played softball and volleyball. He also loved to bowl, ride in fast cars and Johnny Cash. He had a special gift for remembering birthdays and would never turn down sweets. His faith and being a member of Grace Baptist Church were very important to him, but nothing more important than his family and spending time with them every chance he got. Left to cherish John’s memory are his siblings, Patricia Goodrich of Albert Lea, Larry Bartlett of Berea, Ky., James (Judy) Bartlett of Austin, Nancy (Larry) Jenkins of Winnebago, Mary (Kenneth) Hoffman of Mankato, Robert (Connie) Bartlett of Lansing, Ill., Dennis (Jonelle) Bartlett of Winnebago and David (Vicki) Bartlett of Forest City, Iowa, sister-in-law, Diane Bartlett of Roseburg, Ore.; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant siblings, Helen Marie Bartlett and Clarence Lewis Bartlett; sister, Elizabeth Thornton; brother, Laverne Bartlett; and brothers-in-law, Laverne Goodrich and Melvin Thornton.
