Slater died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 11, 2022, at Goldfinch Assisted Living Memory Care in Fairmont, Minn. Kramer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marlin Ronald Slater was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Decatur, Ill., to Marlin and Lydia (Wiese) Slater. He served in the U.S. military reserves.

Survivors include: his three daughters, Debra Kurak of Iron River, Wis., Rhonda Ollila of Fridley, Minn., Jill Redenius of Fairmont, Minn.; three grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Slater of Fairmont and Larry Slater of Sabin, Minn.; other relatives and friends.
