Preston died Friday evening, April 21, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Henry Olson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Daryle Gene Preston was born May 16, 1943, in Seneca Township, rural Fenton, Iowa, to Howard and Blanche (Olsen) Preston. He served in the U.S. Army and trained with The Study of Nuclear Missilery at Fort Bliss, Texas, and became part of the launching crew. He was honorably discharged.

Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Jean of Armstrong; his daughter, Candy Preston of St. Augusta, Minn.; his son, Cory Preston of Marina del Rey, Calif.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Fay Preston; sister, LuAnn Dahl; other relatives and friends.
