John Studer

SHERBURN — John “Jack” Studer went to meet our Lord on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn. A celebration of life for Jack is planned in the late spring.

John Herman Studer was born July 24, 1931, to Herman and Agnes (Leibfried) Studer in Sherburn, Minn. He received his diploma from Sherburn High School. On Nov. 7, 1950, he was united in marriage to Rita Rae Coombes at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. They raised 5 children and made their home in Sherburn until 1993. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Albert Lea. Jack returned to Sherburn to spend the past 2 years at Temperance Lake Ridge. Jack worked many jobs. We liked to call him “Jack of all trades.” He repaired and installed large equipment air conditioners for Eagle Air until his retirement in 1993. He continued in this field for many years as an independent contractor for Kenway Engineering of Fairmont. Jack greatly enjoyed buying and selling cars. He would always make a deal on a car with you. He had a tremendous sense of humor and many friends. Jack was incredibly generous and would help anyone in need. Jack and Rita enjoyed traveling and winters in Arizona where they loved golfing, dancing and playing cards.

He is survived by his son, Vincent (JoAnne) Studer of Lake Mills, Wis.; daughters, Julie (Richard) Coffin of Gilbert, Ariz., Cynthia (Steven) Weber of Mankato, Minn. and Darla (Mark) Williams of Decatur, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Jadee, Christopher, Matthew, Michelle, Paul, Jeffrey, Anthony, Georgia, Dustin and Brianne; 14 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Tiara, Tyler, Brianna, Ethan, Pierce, Maycee, Otto, Landon, Kynsley, Elsiy, Jemma and Brynna; four great-great-grandchildren, Titan, Tenley, Banksleigh and Harlo Rose; brother, Mike Studer of Minneapolis; sisters, Mary Lou Adams of Waterville, Ohio, Lois Mernin of Minneapolis, Shirley Hanson of Minneapolis and Susan (Bob) of Ormond Beach, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Janet Wertjes of Minneapolis and Anne Falzone of St Paul; many nieces and nephews.
