Eleanor Stewart

WINNEBAGO — Eleanor Stewart, age 94, passed away peacefully Monday, April 10, 2023, in Winnebago, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Spencer Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago. A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, at the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ellie was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Blue Earth, Minn., to Joe and Hazel Olson. She was one of seven children and graduated from Blue Earth High School at age 17. Ellie met the love of her life, Harry Stewart, at a youth farm club dance and knew shortly after she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. They married soon after and started building their life together. Ellie displayed her multifaceted talents with crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing, baking and volunteering at many of her church projects. Her strong faith in God led to help her in many different avenues throughout her life. Through her years she shared her many talents and knowledge with others. Harry and Ellie had a successful business of Stewart Apiaries which became known as “The Honey man and his Wife.”
Ellie is survived by her son, Michael (Bonnie) Stewart of Fosston, Minn. and grandchildren, Maggie, Theodore (Sarah), Andrew (Dee), Ryan (Sara); daughter, Sara (Chuck) Murry of Winnebago, Minn. and grandchildren, Kerri (Dirk), Brady (Victoria) and Elizabeth (Eric); 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Kay (Chuck) Holmseth. Welcoming her to heaven is husband, Harry; their infant daughter; her parents; five siblings; and one great-grandchild. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
