Steven R. Wolf

FAIRMONT -- A celebration of life for Steven "Steve" R. Wolf, age 65, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Funeral

Home in Fairmont. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery, rural Truman, Minn.

Steven passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home in Fairmont. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial designations to Mayo Clinic Hospice. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Steve was born Sept. 19, 1957, to Raymond and Reita (Schofield) Wolf in Fairmont, Minn. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. Growing up on the farm in rural Truman, he enjoyed mowing the lawn and assisted with the farming operation, from driving tractors during the harvest season to helping in feeding the livestock. Steve graduated from Truman High School and enjoyed participating in football. After high school, he participated in the Special Olympics and was particularly proud of

his track and field medals. Following graduation Steve lived independently for several years in Mankato, later moving to Waterville, then retiring in 2019, making his final move to Fairmont.

While in Mankato, Steve worked for several years at the Wagon Wheel CafÈ and Charley's Restaurant. Steve enjoyed helping people, gardening, bird and squirrel watching. Family was very important to Steve. He was a proud brother, brother-in-law and 'Uncle Steve.'

Steve is survived by his five sisters: Pat (Tom) Smith, Sandi Bahr, Lynda (Duane) Meyer, Connie (Greg Thiesse) Urban and Karen (Doug Smith) Plathe; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents; and brothers-in-law, Ken Bahr and Darrell Urban.
