FAIRMONT -- A funeral service for Charles "Charlie" E. Bremer, 79, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wilbert, Minn. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Charlie passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023, at his home in rural Fairmont, Minn. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul Lutheran School in Fairmont or the donor's choice. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Charles Edward Bremer was born April 18, 1943, to Edward and Irma (Schultze) Bremer in Fairmont, Minn. He attended Wilbert School and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1961. On July 6, 1963, Charlie was united in marriage to Barbara Kay Goedtel at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Tracy and Tory. Charlie and Barb lived in Fairmont and eventually settled on the farm. Charlie worked at Stokely Van Camp for several years and farmed also. Through the years he eventually only farmed and in 2008 he semi-retired and in 2015 he fully retired from farming. Charlie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont where he had served as a trustee. He was also a member at Interlaken Golf Club and served as a board member for many years, Martin County Conservation Club, NRA, Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. Charlie had a passion for golfing and taking care of the Interlaken Golf Course. He loved to be outside and farming. He will be remembered for telling the best jokes and stories. His family was very important to him and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Barb Bremer; two sons, Tracy (Rochelle) Bremer, and Tory Bremer; grandchildren, Josh (Lakyn) Bremer, Tyler Bremer and Nick Bremer; great-grandchildren, Khloe and Kenzi Bremer; siblings, Doris (Dave) Robbins, and Larry (Mary Kay) Bremer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lori Bremer, Jenny Goedtel, Bonnie (Arlen) Bock, Dennis (Jana) Goedtel and Dave (Judi) Goedtel; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irma Bremer; parents-in-law, Otto and Lucille Goedtel; brothers, David Bremer, and Eddie Bremer, Jr.; sister, Alice Bremer; and brother-in-law, Gary Goedtel. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
