Marsha G. Williams

WELCOME — A private family graveside service for Marsha G. Williams, 79, of Welcome, Minn., will be Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at the Welcome City Cemetery. A public celebration of life visitation to remember Marsha will be held starting 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at the Welcome American Legion Hall in Welcome, Minn. Marsha Georgina Hunt was born Aug. 19, 1943, in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of James and Evelyn (Clemensen) Hunt. She attended school in South Elgin, Ill. At the age of 9, she moved to Welcome, Minn. to live with her grandparents Gerdis and Minnie Clemensen and attended Welcome School graduating from American School. On Aug. 7, 1959, Marsha married Gary Williams in Estherville, Iowa, and they made their home in Fairmont, Minn., and then Welcome, Minn. They were blessed with four children: Danny, Connie, Vicki and Kristine. In addition to caring for her family, Marsha worked at Stokely’s Plant 2, Armor Foods, and 37 years at 3M before retiring in 2005. After retiring she worked part time at Welcome Meats, was secretary/treasurer for Welcome Historical Society and was active in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. She loved reading and doing things for her family. Marsha is survived by her children, Connie (Mike) Scheff, Vicki (Gary) Nelsen, Kristine (Jamie) Pendergast; grandchildren, Paul Scheff, Kent Scheff, Luke (Rachel) Scheff, Stephanie (Ryan) Cairney, Nichole (Tyler) Ayers, Danielle (Justin) Portz, Jon (Leah) Mussmann, Amber (Zack) King, Grace Pendergast; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Chuck (Mary) Williams, Todd Williams; daughter-in-law, Tammy Williams; sisters-in-law, Connie Williams, Mary Margret Williams; half-brother, Kevin (Raelene) Eckmann of Tenn.; half-brother, Jim (Marlene) Hunt of Ill.; stepsister, Pam (Jim) Kinsey of Calif.; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, father, mother, aunt, grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, stepsister, stepmother, stepfather, other relatives and friends.
