Donald W. Stelter
CEYLON — A public graveside service for Donald “Don” W. Stelter, 83, of rural Ceylon, Minn., will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Lake Belt Cemetery, rural Ceylon, Minn.
Don passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Monday at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Welcome. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com
Donald William Stelter was born Nov. 3, 1939, to William and Martha (Haak) Stelter on the farm in Lake Belt Township, near Ceylon, Minn. He received his education in Ceylon Schools later graduating with the class of 1957. Don then served in the U.S. Army for 2 years in Germany upon returning home. He began to farm in the spring of 1960 and he was proud that he farmed the land that has been in the Stelter family since 1891. On Aug. 25, 1963, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Ruth Lubenow at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, Minn. After marriage they lived and farmed just north of Ceylon and had one son, John Stelter. Don was actively involved in the church board that his grandfather was one of the founding members of and was also its president while on the board.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Stelter of rural Ceylon, Minn; son, John (Penny) Stelter of Lakota, Iowa; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Wallace (Delores) Stelter and Robert Stelter both of Mankato, Minn; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Wayne (Shirley) Lubenow of Armstrong, Iowa; and other relatives.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Stelter; sister, Edla (Roland) Johnson; and other relatives.
