Joseph Francis Bulfer was born Feb. 9, 1948, in Fairmont, Minn., to Louis and Mary (Angstrom) Bulfer. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served one tour in Vietnam as a radio operator, and was honorably discharged.

Survivors include his wife, Aloma of Willow Springs, Mo.; son, Dustin; adopted son, Michael; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles of Canton, Texas, Margaret Galloway of Belle Vue, Neb., Thomas Bulfer of Worthing, S.D., Edward Bulfer of Fairmont, Rosalie Bulfer of Fairmont, and Patrick “Pat” Bulfer of Fairmont.
