Lauren F. Ettesvold

FAIRMONT -- A memorial service for Lauren F. Ettesvold, 87, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with visitation prior to the service from 9:30-11 a.m. Following the service, military honors by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222 will be provided at the church.

Lauren passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lauren Flom Ettesvold was born Jan. 25, 1935, to Marvin and Marge (Flom) Ettesvold in Glenwood, Minn. He was baptized on April 28, 1935, at Glenwood Lutheran Church. He graduated from Montevideo High School and attended St. Cloud University. Lauren

served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1961 and during part of his time he served in Korea. On Dec. 7, 1958, Lauren was united in marriage to Sandra Justice at the Presbyterian Church in Ringsted, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with four children, Gary, Karen,

David and Tyler. Lauren worked as a salesman for Fairmont Wholesale Supply Co. for 19 years and later became owner/operator of the business. He was president of Minnesota Candy and Tobacco Distributors Association, Inc. in the 1980's. Lauren was a long-time member of Interlaken Golf Club where he served on the board. Lauren enjoyed a good laugh and was known to pull off a number of hilarious practical jokes.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-four years, Sandy; children, Gary (Sherri), Karen (Jim) Bryan, David (Judi), Tyler (Dana); grandchildren and great-

grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Unke, Charlotte and Kane; Ryan (Alexis), Hadley and Parker; Annie Mehr, Dylan and Grace; Hannah (Seth) Gravdahl, Elliot and Murphy; Josh (Dani) and Alex; Chris, Hayden, Sawyer, Tim; step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Nicole, Amber, Alicia; many honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Marge (Richard) Bolster, and Jean Eltringham; half-brothers, Allen and Peter; stepbrother, Mike; long-time friend, Lowell Madsen; many nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Marge Ettesvold; parents-in-law, Harold and Myrtle Justice; sister, Maureen Olson; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mons Olson, Spike Ostedgaard, Nancy and Bob Bach, Don and Glorian Justice. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
