SHERBURN -- A celebration of life service for Eldon F. Bettin, 89, of Temperance Lake Ridge, Sherburn, Minn., will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont, Minn., with Pastor John Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Elm Creek Cemetery, rural Trimont, Minn.
Eldon was called to his eternal rest Tuesday evening, Dec. 6, 2022, at Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church in Trimont. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family on line at www.kramerfuneralhome.com
Eldon Fred Bettin was born May 15, 1933, to Fred and Alma (Hilken) Bettin in Jackson, Minn. He received his education in Sherburn Schools later graduating with the class of 1951 and was the class valedictorian and was awarded the National Honor Society. Eldon then attended the University of Minnesota. On June 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to Joan Grace Clemmensen in Truman, Minn. After their marriage they lived in Trimont where Eldon was a mechanic and later worked in sales. He then was an agent for AAL Insurance for many years. They lived in Trimont and later moved to Jackson and then to Temperance Lake Ride. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont. He served as president and was Sunday School Superintendent and helped build the church parsonage. He is survived by his wife, Joan Bettin of Sherburn, Minn.; three sons, Mike Bettin of Mt. Lake, Minn., Brian (Pat) Bettin of Onalaska, Wis., and Ross (Cindy) Bettin of Sherburn, Minn.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Harley Bettin of Grand Rapids, Minn.; brothers-in-law, Larry (Lou) Clemmensen of Como Park, Minn. and Lloyd (Barb) Clemmensen of Fairmont, Minn.; sister-in-law, Jane (Paul) Weseman of Sherburn, Minn.; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alma Bettin; son, Joseph Bettin; granddaughter, Jennifer Bettin; brothers-in-law, David Weaver and Bill Stevens; sisters, Joye Weaver and Nyla Stevens; sisters-in-law, Joan Bettin and Jean Clemmensen; and other relatives.
