John Henry Arthur Bremer

LAKESIDE, Ariz. — John Henry Arthur Bremer was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022. John’s memorial service was held Nov. 19, 2022, at the Shepard of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Pinetop, Ariz., with a memorial lunch that followed the service. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 1669 40th St. in Wilbert, Minn., followed by a burial in the church cemetery in Wilbert, then a luncheon back at the church. No viewing in MN as cremation will have occurred following service in AZ. Arrangements provided by Silver Creek Mortuary in Pinetop, Ariz.

John was born Sept. 3, 1953, in Fairmont, Minn., to Arthur and Annette Bremer. John was a marvelous blend of gentle, serious, generous, faithful, loving, intelligent, playful, and humorous. He was raised on a dairy farm in rural Ceylon, Minn. John attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Wilbert, then Ceylon High School. He went to college at Concordia Seward (Nebraska) and Mankato State University (Minnesota). John married Lynne Kuehnert on March 23, 1974. He was a lifelong LCMS Lutheran active in church attendance, faith at home, and service within the church community as an usher, elder and more. He was a CPA (certified public accountant). His lifelong enjoyment of singing led him to touring with his collegiate choir while a student at Concordia. John loved to play pick-up games of basketball in his younger years. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. He lived in southern MN until relocating to Show Low, Ariz. John loved people, he could always be found engaged in conversation with others. He had a special way with children and his playfulness remains a fond memory for many. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lynne Bremer of Lakeside, Ariz.; sons, David (Juliet) Bremer of Cary, N.C., James (Jean) Bremer of Columbus, Ohio; grandsons, Jeffrey (Harmony) Martinez of Daly City, Calif., Jay Martinez of the Philippines, Jofreign Martinez of Cary, N.C., John “Jack” Bremer of Columbus, Ohio, Jameson “Jayce” Bremer of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Jorraine (Timothy) Uy of Mesa, Ariz.; great-grandsons, George “Geordan” Jimenez of Daly City, Calif., Tobias “TJ’ Uy of Mesa, Ariz., Adelaine “Lainey’ Uy of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Deanna (William) Otte of Rochester, Minn., Rosemary Rosenberg of Fairmont, Minn., Beverly (David) Petrick of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Rebecca (Keith) Bicknase of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Karen (Richard) Quaid of West Des Moines, Iowa; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Bremer; mother, Annette Bremer; brother-in-law, David Rosenberg; nephew-in-law, Chad Petschke; foster niece, Karri Zebel; and niece, Krista Rosenberg.
