SHERBURN -- A celebration of life service for John H. Ringeisen, 87, of Sherburn, Minn., will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Welcome, with burial in the church cemetery.
John was called to his eternal rest Tuesday morning, Nov. 15, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Welcome, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. John Henry Ringeisen was born April 3, 1935, to Elmer and Pearl (Ammann) Ringeisen, at the family home in Sherburn Village Township, Martin County, Minn. He received his education at Sherburn schools, graduating with the class of 1955. John was employed for Ernie Jensen at his seed plant in rural Sherburn until being employed for Charlie Ritter on his cattle farm in Iowa. He then attended Jackson Vocational School for autobody. On July 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Arla Mae Hartwig at St. John's United Church of Christ in Fairmont, Minn. After their marriage, they raised their family and John was employed in autobody at Roepke Motors and later for Park Motors. John also did part-time police work for the city of Sherburn and was referred to as "Johnny Law" by locals. He later worked for the autobody department with Hawkins Chevrolet in Sherburn until 1976, when he started his employment at Railway Motors/Greenlee Textron in Fairmont until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Welcome. After retirement he worked for Rosen's Inc. out of Fairmont, delivering agricultural chemicals to retailers throughout MN and WI. In John's spare time he liked to travel with Arla. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin, fishing and riding snowmobiles water skiing, a faithful sports fan for his grandkids, and going on spontaneous adventures with Michael "#3." He is survived by his two sons, David (Betty) Ringeisen of Sherburn, Minn., and Ross (Janice) Ringeisen of Truman, Minn.; five grandchildren, Krista (Brad) Payne of Osceola, Iowa, Amy (Blake) Crosby of Harrisburg, S.D., Katie (Lance) Briard of Osceola, Iowa, Ally Ringeisen of Mitchell, S.D., Colby Ringeisen of Spencer, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Crue Crosby and Charlotte Payne; cousin, Ginny (Dean) Kinzie of Good Thunder, Minn.; other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Pearl Ringeisen; his wife, Arla Mae Ringeisen on June 9, 2022; brothers, Willard, Neil, Oakley, Glen, Maynard and Merlin Ringeisen, cousin, Pam Rosa; and other relatives.
