EAST CHAIN -- A funeral service for Earl Dean Larsen, age 83, of East Chain, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, at East Chain Lutheran Church in rural East Chain. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont. Full military honors will be provided by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the East Chain Activity Center.
Earl Dean passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 1, 2022, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Earl Dean Larsen was born Feb. 13, 1939, to Earl and Lydia Larsen in Armstrong, Iowa. He graduated from East Chain High School in 1956. On May 23, 1964, Earl Dean was united in marriage to Bonnie Jeane Lewis at the East Chain Lutheran Church. During their marriage, they were blessed with three children, Terry, Dawn, and Timothy. Earl Dean and Bonnie settled into a home in the East Chain area where he was a lifelong farmer. He also enjoyed working for Arends Sale Barn, trucking for Parks of Minnesota, hauling cattle and hogs, and lending a hand to local farmers when needed. Earl Dean is also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Earl Dean enjoyed spending his free time on the farm and weekly trips to Arends Sale Barn. You could often times find him spending time in conversation with everyone he knew listening to country music, going to dances with Bonnie and friends, watching RFD TV and Molly B Polka Party. As time went on, Earl Dean enjoyed making memories with his grandchildren and supporting them during activities and sporting events. He is survived by his three children: Terry (Roxanne) Larsen of North Mankato, Dawn (Terry) Stensland of Blue Earth, and Tim (Heather) Larsen of Cloquet; 12 grandchildren, Samantha, Jennifer and Brian Larsen, Adam Meester (fiancé, Breanna Johnson), Brandon Meester, Hayley Stensland, Jessica Stensland, Erin Larsen, Macy (Harmon) Atwood, Quinten and Caden Larsen; one great-granddaughter, Baker Atwood; brother-in-law, Bob Lewis (fiance, Renee Kinney); other extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Larsen; parents, Earl and Lydia Larsen; and granddaughter, Faith Larsen. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
