James passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, in Anoka, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

James Allen Baker was born April 30, 1946, in Huntley, Minn., to James and Irene (Melby) Baker. He graduated from Huntley High School and then attended trade school in Austin, Minn. On Sept. 18, 1965, James was united in marriage to Dorothy Rothe at Mator Delorosa Catholic Church in Delavan, Minn. This marriage was blessed with five children: James, Mike, Rhonda, Jason, and Holly. James put in many hours on his dairy farm and then worked as a crew leader for Stokely Van-Camp in Fairmont for many years. Dorothy passed away in December of 2001. On Dec. 3, 2004, James was united in marriage to Bonnie Ellanson. They made their home in Fairmont. James loved fishing and spending time with his family. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Bonnie Baker; children, Mike Baker, Rhonda (Todd) Gies, Jason (Deanna Stinson) Baker, and Holly (Troy) Smedley; stepdaughter, Stephanie; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny Baker; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
