FAIRMONT -- A funeral service for William "Bill" Peymann, age 86, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop, Minn. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont.
Bill passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at his home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
William August Peymann was born March 23, 1936, to August and Lula (Dorendorf) Peymann, at his home in Fraser Township, Martin County, Minn. He attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School through the eighth grade and later graduated from Fairmont High School in 1954. On Sept. 1, 1957, Bill was united in marriage to Joyce Droegemueller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. This union was blessed with three sons, Gary, Tom, and Brian. The couple resided in Fairmont before moving to Jackson for two years and then returning to Fairmont. Bill operated South Side Mobil in Fairmont before working at Anderson Lumber in Jackson. He then worked at Mobil Oil where he did the bulk route before working at Cast Stone. Bill then served as the Chief of Police for the Welcome Police Department from 1975 until his retirement in 1998. During his free time, Bill enjoyed woodworking. He made many things for people throughout the years. Bill's carpentry skills were put to use when he built a cabin in Canada with his three sons and three of his grandsons. He enjoyed going to the cabin to fish and spend time with his family. Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years, Joyce of Fairmont, Minn.; three sons, Gary (Connie) Peymann of Welcome, Minn., Tom (Dawn) Peymann of Mankato, Minn., and Brian (Tracey) Peymann of St. Peter, Minn.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Geneva Peymann of Houston, Texas; brothers-in-law, Bob Droegemueller of Wickenburg, Ariz., and Jim Droegemueller of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Belva (Tim) Peterson of Welcome, Minn.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, August and Lula Peymann, Bill was preceded in death by his brother in infancy, Lowell Peymann; brother, Rev.
