Randy S. Kruse

FAIRMONT -- A memorial service for Randy S. Kruse, age 63, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at the church. Following the service, burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont.

Randy passed away Saturday afternoon, Sept. 17, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Randy Scott Kruse was born March 28, 1959, to David and Arlene (Hankel) Kruse in Mankato, Minn. At a young age, his family moved to Worthington, Minn., where they made their home before moving to the Minneapolis area. In 1974, the family moved to Fairmont where Randy graduated high school with the class of 1978. Following his high school graduation, he began working for Tiger Warehouse and Gunther's Foods. Randy also worked other various

jobs throughout his life including: Chateau Restaurant, Pizza Hut, Perkins, Walmart and at REM Heartland. In 1993, Randy met Sue Bork and the two began dating. The couple married on Sept. 19, 2015, at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Growing up, Randy was a member of The Christian Church of Fairmont until he met his wife, then he became a member of the First Congregational Church. One of Randy's passions was bowling.

He was in a few leagues, and traveled to many towns for tournaments, in which he proudly held over 30 trophies from. Randy's other passion was attending area dirt track races. Most could find him in the stands, or at the gates as the guys brought their cars to the track, and he faithfully kept score of every race. Randy also enjoyed time with family and friends, he would always make people laugh, and he loved reminiscing about the good old

days. He also enjoyed attending the county fairs. Family and friends were most important to Randy, and he cherished all the times he was able to spend with them.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sue Kruse of Fairmont; father, David Kruse; brother, Doug (Charlotte) Cecil and their daughter, Cassidy of Colorado; sisters,

Robin (Terry) Hamilton of Oregon, and Debbie (Dusty) Bulfer and their children, Brian, Lukas, Lilly and Rose of Alexandria, Minn.; Sue's cousins, John and Denise Maas; other extended family and many friends. Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Cecil; brother, Jeffrey Paul Kruse; his grandparents, Earl and Fern Kruse, Walter and Irene Hankel; and his aunt, Dorothy Green.
