BERRYVILLE, Ark. -- Helen Marie Gatchel of Berryville, Ark., was born Feb. 16, 1935, in Fairmont, Minn., to Arnold and Esther (Kiester) Kanning. Helen passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, in Berryville, Ark. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Gatchel and wife, Sheri of Huxley, Iowa, Nancy Plagge and husband, Virgil of Golden, Mo., Robert Gatchel and wife, Martha of Hartland, Wis.; grandchildren, Matthew Gatchel and wife, Brandee of Huxley, Iowa, Sara Wilson and husband, Travis of Huxley, Iowa, Joseph Plagge and wife, Magda of Denton, Texas, Lisa Thompson and husband, James of Eagle Rock, Mo., Adam Plagge and wife, Kisa of Brant Lake, N.Y., Lauren Crawford and husband, Allen of Indianapolis, Ind., Allison Nault and husband. Luke of Waukesha, Wis., Austin Gatchel of San Francisco, Calif., John Gatchel of Denver, Colo.; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Junker of Belfair, Wash., Julia Westby of Olympia, Wash., Diane Lenzi of Richland, Wash., Diane Kanning of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church, 204 Trinnen Lane in Berryville, Ark.
